People forget Arizona has winter. Down in Mesa it’s shirtsleeves in January — but the drive up the I-17 toward Flagstaff, Payson, and the rim country climbs into real snow and ice. That’s where a lot of Valley drivers get caught: a day trip to see the snow that turns into a breakdown or a slide-off far from home.

Our home base is the East Valley, but the Heavy Rescue Division runs recoveries statewide — and that includes the cold. - Run the heater in cycles, and keep the exhaust pipe clear of snow
- Give dispatch a mile marker or a dropped pin — landmarks disappear under snow
- Tell us your situation — kids, pets, low fuel, or a medical need moves you up the queue
