Heavy-Duty Recovery
Loaded Reefer Down on the I-17 Grade
I-17 northbound climb, north of Phoenix
A refrigerated tractor-trailer at full highway weight lost its drive on the northbound grade — shoulder-parked, loaded, and blocking the breakdown lane on one of Arizona’s busiest climbs.
On a loaded combination vehicle there is no shortcut: the scene gets shielded first, the load is confirmed stable, the brakes are caged, and the driveline comes out before anything is hooked. Our operator rigged to the manufacturer’s tow points and brought the full combination off the grade without a scratch on the tractor.
The freight kept its cold chain, the carrier kept its schedule, and the interstate kept moving — which is the whole job on a call like this.
